Geepers Creepers, Where'd You Get Those Peepers?

Glasses. They seem to be all the rage from high fashion runways to hipster street style. This time, the frames are large, mirroring that of 1980's style. "Geek Chic" is what it's notoriously named, and it's never been better. Now those like me can let their inner nerd shine without feeling fashion-limited.

They were seen repeatedly in Marc Jacobs' Ready-to-Wear Spring 2008 collection (right), paired with the likes of seemingly nerd-like wears with modern and femminine flairs. Accompanied with big hair, yet another 1980's influence, it seems as if the fashion world is headed for a rather intellectual Spring. Luella (left) also held a Geek Chic vibe, as large frames were presented with floral print skirts, cardigans, plaids, and blazers.

Model Iekeliene Stange (left) is possibly the most famous for her innovative style of dressing, featuring large frames in a multitude of her outfits. Embodying Geek Chic at it's finest, she is considered a fashion icon to those who favor unique flair.

Notorious "Hipster" retailer American Apparel is known for their somewhat obscure wears, and they offer a great pair of costume glasses, with just the right amount nerd. But hey, there's an easy way to save money on this fabulous accessory. Dig through your mom's drawers and you're bound to find a pair from the 80's. Punch out the lenses, and you got the goods to call yourself a synthetic geek.
